New Drugs in Schools

Monday, January 26th, 2009

New drug in Schools… Please pass this on even if you do not have kids in school. Parents should know about this killer drug. Grandparents, send it to your families and friends. This is a new drug known as ‘strawberry quick’. There is a very scary thing going on in the schools right now that we all need to be aware of.

There is a type of crystal meth going around that looks like strawberry pop rocks (the candy that sizzles and ‘pops’ in your mouth). It also smells like strawberry and it is being handed out to kids in school yards. They are calling it strawberry meth or strawberry quick. Kids are ingesting this thinking that it is candy and being rushed off to the hospital in dire condition. It also comes in chocolate, peanut butter, cola, cherry, grape and orange.

Please instruct your children not to accept candy from strangers and even not to accept candy that looks like this from a friend (who may have been given it and believed it is candy) and to take any that they may have to a teacher, principal, etc. immediately.

Pass this information on to as many people as you can (even if they don’t have kids) so that we can raise awareness and hopefully prevent any tragedies from occurring.

Scratch and Sniff Water Colors

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

1 tbs. Unsweetened powdered drink mix
1 tbs. Warm Water
Several Small Containers (Muffin Tins Work Well)

Mix water and unsweetened drink mix in a small bowl. Repeat with several different flavors to create different colors. Allow finished art work to dry over night before scratching and sniffing.

My son has a blast with this. It is messy though. Cover up with an old shirt from Dad or an apron. Large trash bags with a whole cut for the head and arms works well for a child’s apron.

How to Clean Out Your Washing Machine

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

Fill the washer with hot water and a half gallon of white vinegar. Let the washer go through a wash cycle, but stop the machine before it pumps out the water/vinegar solution. Let it sit for at least an hour. Next, allow the washer to empty itself and rinse. You may still need to wipe with some of the vinegar solution around the top rim of the tub, below the top of the washer to remove the gunk that collects there.

Follow this procedure every six months.
